What led you to a job at Zipline Interactive?
One of my teachers at college pulled me aside and told me they'd recommended me to Shawn as a Graphic Designer and that I should get in touch. I sent a RIDICULOUSLY overly friendly and excited email his way; and a month, a grad show, and one interview later I was offered a position on the team!
Do you believe Al Gore invented the Internet?
As much as I believe Marie Antoinette said, "Let them eat cake."
What is your favorite part of working in digital advertising?
Things are constantly changing so there’s always something to learn, engaging my mind to think critically. Each client is so unique that it makes the process of finding the right solution for each person a good challenge; and that feeling of when it all comes together is incredibly satisfying.
Outside of digital advertising, what is your dream job?
If you thought I'd answer this question and NOT say mermaid, you're crazy.
What is your favorite thing about working at Zipline?
The humans! I'm constantly blown away by the talented and delightful teammates I get to work with!
What do you do when you're not at work?
I love to write, read, sleep, draw, and play some sweet, sweet Dungeons & Dragons!
What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
Back when I was clearly at the height of intelligent decisions - Seventh grade - a guy I disliked approached me with a proposal to play a game. A game where you would count to 20 while he scraped his nail across your skin. How fast or slow you counted would then reveal how much of a wimp you were. Me, being myself, and again, at the PEAK of intelligence, agreed to play. Narrowed my eyes, and counted as slowly as I dared.
The game only stopped when the teacher saw the fountain of blood the guy was digging into and sent me to the nurse's office. A bunch of years later, I have a scar running down the back of my left hand from the encounter. It might not be the craziest thing I've ever done but it's sure up there with the dumbest. Good job, Past Me. Makin' memories.
What is something most people don't know about you?
I have, to this day, still never beaten Majora's Mask... I also think people who eat kiwis with the skin on are probably aliens.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?
At the end of either August Rush or The Hunt for Red October, I will legitimately applaud. I also love shark movies. All of them. My desperate, shark-adoring soul still holds out hope that the Megalodon is still out there somewhere - munching on giant squid to its heart's content.
Who is your idol?
I don't think I've had an idol for years now. I tend to think everyone has something I can learn from, and my INTP-self sees people as just people. Unless they're undead.
